If your pension plan is not a LIRA, there are still options for unlocking it, depending on the type of plan you have. You may be able to unlock your pension if it falls under the following categories, as long as you are no longer working for the employer who created the plan:
✅ LIRA (Locked-In Retirement Account)
✅ LRSP (Locked-In Retirement Savings Plan)
✅ Registered Pension Plan (RPP)
✅ DCPP (Defined Contribution Pension Plan)
However, if your pension plan falls under any of the following categories, we are unable to assist with unlocking it:
❌ Pension plans from Quebec (QC), Saskatchewan (SK), or Prince Edward Island (PEI)
❌ Canada Pension Plan benefits (Retirement, Disability, Survivor, or Dependent’s Pension)
❌ Old Age Security (OAS) or Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
❌ Provincial government benefit programs (e.g., Disability benefits)
❌ Life Annuity Insurance or settlement annuities
❌ Employer pension plans from which you are already receiving monthly pension benefits
❌ LIF (Life Income Fund), PRIF (Prescribed Retirement Income Fund), or LRIF (Locked-In Retirement Income Fund)
